Description
DESCRIPTION: 52.215-3 -- Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes. This is a Solicitation Synopsis in accordance with FAR 52.215-3 -- Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (Oct 1997) (a) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. (b) Your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. (c) Background: The C-17 Training Systems Integrated Product Team at Wright-Patterson AFB OH is responsible for the development, fielding and sustainment of aircrew and maintenance training devices, concurrency of those devices, and aircrew instruction. The breadth of this effort expands across eight USAF bases in CONUS, two in PACAF, and an Australian FMS base. The C-17 Aircrew Training System (ATS) is comprised of various types of training devices to include Weapon System Trainers (WST) of which nineteen have been fielded. (d) The purpose of this synopsis is to assist the program office with the formulation of the acquisition strategy to purchase another WST in 2008 with the possibility of a second in 2009 and to ascertain your interest in bidding on this device. The attached Sources Sought Synopsis provides details of the information requested. The C-17 ATS System Specification is also provided to aid you in preparing your response. Interested sources must respond with a data package of no more than 10 pages. All parties are asked to provide a point of contact, a telephone number, an e-mail address, and a facsimile number in their response.
