Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Agencourt Bisciencec Corp, Beverly, MA 01915, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for one (1) each of the following items: 1) A46697-Agencort gDNA Extraction Workstation to include a Biomek NXP Single Arm Workstation with Automation PC Controller including Windows XP, Biomek Software, and 17" Flat Panel Monitor. The system will support Agencourt?s SPRI Chemistry for the purpose of genomic DNA extraction from Mousetails. It will feature an 8 channel pipetting head, 4 x 3 deck layout, 1 ml syringe option, an integrated solution for piercing Matrix-style storage tubes, reformatting capability from tubes to 96 well plates, and an integrated shaking ALP, as well as functionality for pre and post pcr set-up. In addition, it includes the installation of and training for custom method for gDNA extraction. The robot that will interact with this workstation has already been purchased and outfitted with the robotic purification protocols using magnetic beads manufactured by Agencourt. To meet the increased need for genomic DNA etraction for mouse tail genotyping and to ensure compatibility with existing hardware and reagent, this extraction workstation is required. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Contract Specialist at the address stated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received by 12:00 NOON, Friday, 9/28/07 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received to this notice, an order will be placed with Agencourt. The NAICA Code/Size is 334516/500. This procurement is to beprocessed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $100,000.
