- Description
- NASA/ARC has a requirement for One (1) LWIR (long wavelength infrared region) camera system to support upcoming experimental research investigations. The camera will be coupled to a data system capable of near-continuous acquisition, storage and processing of 640 x 512-pixel formatted IR images collected at multiple-present integration times at high frame rates. NASA/ARC intends to purchase the SC6000 QWIP/HSDR LWIR camera system from FLIR Systems Inc. The LWIR camera system that FLIR manufactures will integrate seamlessly into the existing programs used by NASA. No other product was found that met the specifications of camera interface or support by FLIR Systems' ThermaCAM RTools and ThermaCAM Researcher software in use at NASA ARC. Using other sources that do not meet the requirement will have an adverse effect on NASA engineers to effectively deploy a working camera system for specialized tests taking place in the near future. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on October 8, 2007. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B". Any referenced notes may be viewed at the following URLs linked below.
