- THIS IS A MODIFICATION TO THE INITIAL NOTICE POSTED TO FEDERAL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES (FBO) ON AUGUST 24, 2007. BY ISSUE OF THIS MODIFICATION, THIS PROCUREMENT IS ADVERTISED ON AN UNRESTRICTED BASIS (FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION). THERE IS A PRE-BID CONFERENCE SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 23, 2007. INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE AT: http://www.cflhd.gov/procurement/construction/advertised-projects.cfm PROJECT DETAILS: This project is located in Grand Canyon National Park, and is titled AZ PRA GRCA 15(1) & 12(3), Hermit Road and South Entrance Road. This project will consist of one schedule for grading, drainage and surfacing on 7.11 miles of Hermit Road, and two options ? one for widening and bypass lane construction on 1.34 miles of the South Entrance Road and one for 1.98 miles of greenway/bike path along Hermit Road. There is an incentive completion date of November 2008. Estimated price range is between $12,000,000 and $18,000,000. Principal work items on the schedule include: Lump sum construction survey and staking; lump sum contractor testing; 23,570 ln ft of soil erosion control, silt fence; 25 acres of clearing and grubbing; 25,660 cu yd of roadway excavation; 1,091 sq ft of reinforced concrete retaining wall; 139,000 sq yd of 8-inch depth pulverizing; 8,910 tons of roadway aggregate, method 1; 31,980 tons of superpave pavement; 310 tons of antistrip additive; 185 tons of prime coast; 1,015 tons of blotter; 4,220 sq yd of pain rigid pavement, 8-inch depth; 500 ln ft of pipe culvert, various sizes; 1,747 ln ft of 9-inch deep stone curb; 5,197 sq yd of asphalt sidewalk; 4,900 cu yd of conserved topsoil (placed); 2,000 hrs of temporary traffic control (flagger); lump sum construction of bus loop shade shelter; all of the above along with associated removal of headwalls, signs, pipe culverts, concrete sidewalks; place riprap; removing and resetting boulders; fencing and gates; rental equipment; labor services; and pavement markings. Tentative advertisement date is September 28, 2007.
