Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, U. S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Missouri intends to award on a sole source base under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1 with Government Scientific Source, Inc, 12351 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, Virginia 20191 for reagents which perform hemoglobin A1C testing for diabetic patients. These reagents are utilized for a Bio-Rad Variant Analyzer which was awarded under a 60 month equipment lease agreement, contract GS-07F-5934R. The specific reagents and quantities are as follows: 18 pkg - Diabetes Control Bi-Level, 12 pkg - Variant II A1C reagent, 2 pkg - Hemoglobin A1C Linearity set, 24 pkg - Buffer A, 12 pkg - Buffer B, and 12 pkg - Diluent Wash. The contract will be for a firm-fixed priced purchase order for the period 10/1/07 through 9/30/08. Any firm who believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer by August 24, 2007, 2:00 p.m. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed and must show competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses received will be evaluated, however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source procurement to Government Scientific Source, Inc. This acquisition is set aside 100% for small business. All vendors are hereby notified if your response is not received by the date and time specified in this notice, it will not be considered. Faith-Based and Community-Based organizations have the right to submit quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
