Solicitation Number: EOTYC8RI026 Solicitation Closing Date: All quotes must be received by 5:00 p.m. EST, Thursday September 27, 2007 The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-20. FAR clause at 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions ? Commercial Items, and FAR clause 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required To Implement Statutes or Executive Orders?Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. NAICS: 541519 Description: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The purpose of this is to provide maintenance support for NETTAPP, ADIC Storage, and VERITAS software/hardware at DFAS-TSO/CS. EMAIL THE POC FOR A COMPLETE LISTING OF ALL THE PRODUCTS AND LOCATION OF THE PRODUCTS REQUIRING MAINTENANCE. Prices: THE AWARD SHALL BE MADE TO THE LOW COST, TECHNICALLY ACCEPTABLE OFFER. Period of Performance: October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008. Invoices: Shall be submitted via Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) to a WAWF acceptor that will be identified in the resulting contract. As of February 1, 2007 the DFAS Contract Services Directorate (issuing office) no longer makes paper or email distribution of contract documents. All DFAS contracts and modifications are available on the Electronic Document Access (EDA) website (http://eda.ogden.disa.mil). BRAND NAME JUSTIFICATION DFAS has invested a considerable amount of time and money into the design, and subsequent purchase of the listed equipment in order to meet the storage requirements necessary to stay in compliance with DoD directives. NETTAPP, ADIC Storage system with VERITAS software were first installed at DFAS in 2005. Total acquisition costs for these storage systems since 2005 is over $9,000,000.00. The Governments requirement is for technical support of storage products, as required to comply with warranty provisions of the hardware and software. Maintenance representatives must be authorized by NETTAPP in order to service the equipment currently under warranty without violating the terms of the warranty. Consequently, this acquisition is for the renewal of software/hardware maintenance previously purchased, implemented, and currently being used by all DFAS users, is considered to be a logical follow-on in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)2 (ii).
