Description
OR PFH 155-1(2), BLAINE ROAD, SIUSLAW NATIONAL PARK, TILLAMOOK COUNTY, OREGON. THE WORK CONSISTS OF: Grading, base, cold recycled asphalt base, superpave pavement, drainage, walls, rockeries, and erosion control. The work also contains shoulder stabilization subexcavation and subexcavation for travel way stabilization. This will require pavement milling of material above the subexcavation and replacement with a minor hot asphalt temporary surface to protect subgrade during construction activities. Continuous cold recycled aggregate base will be implemented after subexcavation is completed. Three segments of the project will be realigned and the remainder of the project will be a 3R, overlay project. Seventeen approach aprons are included in the project. Two of these are associated with approach roads to the Kostic private property. These two roads are constructed to a 4.4 meter total width and at substantial grades. Day to day operations of a small dairy must be maintained during construction. Soil erosion protection will be accomplished in part by filter berms used in place of common silt fences. Hatinger and Wake Creek replacement culverts will be constructed with baffles and pipe anchor assemblies due to the stream gradient and potential for higher water velocities. Standard underdrains will be constructed both adjacent to walls and in areas of historical ground water problems. Welded wire faced mechanically stabilized earth walls and rockeries will be constructed on the project. Existing guardrail will be removed from three locations and new guardrails installed in slightly different locations. Both back slope anchor terminals and tangent type terminals will be installed. Two special construction temporary traffic control signs notifying the public of the road?s name and to expect delays will be fabricated in addition to standard signs. Temporary pavement markings will be required during construction as well as the creation of a temporary single lane bypass where needed to accommodate subexcavation. Pavement millings placed in the existing ditch and the placement of concrete barriers will be used to facilitate this construction. Right-of-way monumentation is required on this project. (SEE ATTACHED PROJECT DESCRIPTION FOR DETAILS) PROJECT LENGTH: 6.610 KILOMETERS FIXED COMPLETION DATE: DECEMBER 1, 2009 ESTIMATED PRICE RANGE: BETWEEN $3 MILLION TO $5 MILLION LOCATION: APPROXIMATELY 19 MILES SOUTHEAST OF TILLAMOOK, OREGON A SOLICITATION IS ANTICIPATED TO BE ISSUED IN WINTER 2007
