- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, Maryland is publishing this request for information (RFI) for Market Research purposes only. This market survey RFI is being conducted to assist NAVAIR in identifying potential sources capable of meeting the requirements for providing the Navy with training products and services used to identify, diagnose, mitigate and manage the effects and impacts that lead-free components have on design interface and maintenance planning of Naval systems. NAVAIR seeks sources that can provide training products and services to technicians, engineers, logisticians, and/or managers to meet its unique Lead-Free Soldering Training (LFST) requirements. NAVAIR needs differ from the commercial sector due to the military operational requirements for higher reliability, very long service life, extended temperature ranges, and the ability to identify and repair lead-free electronic components. The applicables NAICS Code: 611519 Other Technical and Trade Schools (including Electronic equipment repair training), and the FSC Code is: U?Education and Training Services. There is no commitment on the part of the Government nor the intent to award a contract on this RFI. This announcement IS NOT a Request for Proposal nor does the Government intend to pay for any information solicited. The level of Security clearance and amount of Foreign participation in this requirement has not been determined. Contractors/Institutions responding to this market survey are placed on notice that participation in this survey may not ensure participation in future solicitations or contract awards. The government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their participation in this market survey. Interested parties, after reviewing these documents and seek to participate in the market survey, should provide documentation that supports the company?s capability in meeting these requirements. Failure to provide documentation may result in the government being unable to adequately assess the company?s capabilities. If a company be deficient in experience in a particular area, please provide details explaining how the company would overcome the lack of experience/capabilities in order to perform that portion of the requirement (i.e., teaming, subcontracting, etc.) This market survey is open to both large and small businesses, and both are encouraged to participate in this market survey. What certifications can be earned by trainees using your products and/or services? 8. What is the cost of your products and/or services? Please specify whether it is per person trained, or per class, or per product. State whether there are any volume or other discounts. 9. How is your training delivered (e.g., CD-ROM, DVD, in-person classes, on-line, printed material)? Are training classes conducted at your facility, or can it be conducted at a customer?s location? 10. What is the duration of your training (in hours or days of training time)? How many can be trained for each class or set of materials? Is there a maximum that can be trained in a given time, e.g., per year? 11. Can the products and/or services be customized to unique Navy/DoD customer requirements if needed? 12. Are there limitations on the use of your products and/or services (such as restrictions on the maximum number that can be trained using one set of materials)? What copyright restrictions apply? 13. Who is your training directed toward (e.g., technicians/mechanics, engineers, logisticians/supply, managers)? 14. What requirements must the customer meet to use your products and/or services (e.g., minimum computer configurations, travel to training facilities, prerequisite training)? 15.
