Description
NASA/LaRC has a requirement for a light weight portable data acquisition system for performing modal vibration tests. The system must be battery operated and support 8 channels of data with the option of expanding to more channels. The system must also be capable to power ICP type accelerometers and have the option to support strain gage and thermocouple measurements. The front end must interface with a portable laptop Windows PC. NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from LDS Test and Measurement, LLC because they are the only known responsible source of providing a system meeting all requirements: The FOCUS II Data Acquisition system. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 14 October 2007. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed; Cynthia C. Lee, direct inquires to the Office of Procurement Deputy Director, NASA Langley Research Center, Mail Stop 134, Hampton, VA 23681-2199; phone (757)864-2426; facsimile (757)864-8541.
