- Description
- The work involves furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and services necessary to replace the existing roof system serving the approximately 103,626 square foot Main Post Office located at 311 East 11th Avenue, Bowling Green, Kentucky 42101. This work will be in accordance with USPS approved specifications and drawings. Base bid work includes removing all existing roof systems, gutters and unneeded penetrations. Repair water damaged deck and substrate. Install new roof system with a combination of shingles (over 6:12 pitched area at front of building) and an Energy Star rated fully adhered 60 mil thermoplastic membrane over tapered insulation over the remaining portions of the building. Repair and reline the box gutters with lead-coated copper. Flush and repair drain lines and replace existing roof drains. Add 2? tee?s to the grid ceilings below to create a 2? x 2? ceiling grid system. This will help keep the tiles from sagging during periods of high humidity. Replace 2? x 4? ceiling tiles with 2? x 2? tiles. Repair and paint water damaged areas of walls and ceilings. This facility is occupied and in use 24 hours per day, seven days per week. There will be no disruption of mail processing operations. The estimated cost of the project is between $1,500,000 and $1,800,000 with construction completion within 150 calendar days (with 20 weather days) from receipt of Notice to Proceed.
