- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Ohio State University, Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, Wooster, Ohio 44691. The contractor shall provide gnotobiotic piglet facility and an excellent track record in the area of rotavirus vaccine research. The vendor shall have all reagents and assays in place to reliably complete all laboratory tests and provide guidance for future clinical trials in humans. It would be counterproductive for the CDC to have to set up a facility for a vendor who does not have the prerequisite knowledge and experience with a study that involves complex operation procedures, collection of blood and fecal specimens, performance of various complex immunologic assays, and maintenance and monitoring of vaccinated/infected animals. This is a simplified acquisition; therefore, the successful contractor will be award a purchase order under this mechanism. CDC reserves the right to exercise 1 option period for this requirement, which will not exceed the simplified acquisition threshold. The RFQ Number 2008-Q-10190 will be available from this website only within 24 hours of this posting. Questions regarding this procurement can be emailed to tdm1@cdc.gov. The Government intends to evaluate offers and award a purchase order without discussions with offerors providing the requested services. Therefore, the initial offer should contain the offeror's best terms from a technical and price standpoint. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 541690 and the Size Standard is 6,000,000 dollars for this requirement. Interested vendors capable of furnishing the government with the products in this synopsis should submit one (1) copy of the quotation to the address below. The quotation shall include the itemized price, prompt payment terms, the F.O.B. Point (Destination or Origin), Taxpayer Identification Number (TNN), Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNs), and descriptive literature of the product quoted. The quotation must reference RFQ Number 2008-Q-10190. Quotations will be due fifteen (15) calendar days from the publication date of this synopsis or October 23, 2007, by 8:30 a.m. local time, whichever is later. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if received timely, shall be considered by the agency. Quotations must be submitted in writing to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2920 Brandywine Road, Atlanta, GA 30341, Attention: Tamera Murphy. This action is pursuant to 41 USC 253(1) and under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Quotes will be due October 23, 2007, by 8:30 AM EST at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Acquisition and Assistance Branch 2; Attn: Tamera Murphy; 2920 Brandywine Road, Atlanta, GA 30341. Attention Tamera Murphy shall be clearly marked on the envelope. All responsible sources that can meet the above requirement may submit a quote, which will be considered by the Agency.*****.
