- Description
- Description: Market Survey ??? M24 Replacement Aviation Machine Gun Mount The U.S. Army Joints Munitions Lethality Life Cycle Management Command is seeking information on CH-47 M24 Replacement Gun Mount for Cargo Helicopters. The US Army is interested in acquiring information on non-developmental or commercially available Helicopter mounts for the M240H Aviation machine gun and specifically for mounting this weapon on the CH-47 Chinook helicopters. The new mount will replace the current M24 Door and Window mount on the CH-47 Chinook Helicopter using the same attachment points. This survey is to identify weapon mounts that are capable of mounting the M240H on the CH-47. Responses to this market survey must demonstrate the following Key Performance Parameters (KPP): a. It is desired that the new mount be the same weight (33 pounds) or less than the current M24 and M240H gun cradle and incorporate an ammunition feed can which can store 400 rounds of ammunition. b. The mount with weapon, ammunition can and case/link collection system (400 cases and links) attached, must transition from the deployed position to a stowed position while remaining attached to the aft mounting hardpoints on the aircraft door or window and leave the door and aisleway clear. c. The mount must allow quick (60 seconds) interchangeability of weapon, unrestricted unloading of the case/link collection system and reloading of the ammunition can. d. The mount must meet or improve all Field of Fire and reliability criteria requirements set forth in the Operational Requirement Document, mount Design Criteria Document, and the various operational manuals for these aircraft. e. The mount in conjunction with the weapon system must not produce shock, vibration or frequencies which would be detrimental to the airframe. This documentation is available from Mr. David Javorsky at (973)724-6440 or david.javorsky@us.army.mil. Interested parties shall submit a description of their mount along with sketches, drawings, specifications (size, weight, materials, etc), brochures, and / or sample hardware (one). Any and all information should be mailed to the Commander, U.S. Army Headquarters, U.S. Army Joints Munitions and Lethality Life Cycle Management Command, Attn: Ms. Tiffany Strickland, Bldg.09, Picatinny, NJ 07806-5000. Telephone number: (973) 724- 2388 and email address: tiffany.strickland@us.army.mil Submission of samples will confirm the immediate availability of mount hardware. Samples will be returned, upon request, as tested samples (in an ???as is??? condition). This is a Market Survey and not a pre-solicitation notice. This market survey is for informational and planning purposes only and should not be construed as a request for proposal (RFP) or a commitment by the U.S. Government.
