- THIS NOTICE IS FOR SOURCES SOUGHT ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR INVITATION FOR BID. SOLICITATION, SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. The NAICS codes for this proposed acquisition is 237900. The project number for this an nouncement is W912P8-08-SS-0001. The Government will use responses to this Sources Sought synopsis to make appropriate acquisition decisions regarding the type of procurement to be utilized to obtain construction services for improving Louisianas Hurrica ne Protection System. The US Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, solicits a capability statement from all qualified 8(a) Certified Companies within Louisiana and Certified HUBZone Companies. All construction civil works projects are located in Southern Louisiana. The project features include construction of reinforced concrete breakwaters along the Lakefront in Jefferson Parish at Pumping Stations No. 1 and 4. The breakwaters will consist of a reinforced concrete deck constructed atop square pre-cast, pre-stressed concrete piling and steel sheet piling driven from floating plant. Construction also includes wet placement of stone, dredging and backfilling of flotation channel access, installi ng navigational aids, and construction of new pedestrian bridges. All interested companies meeting stated small business criteria are invited to submit a Capability Statement consisting of appropriate documentation, literature and brochures and should include: 1) Firm name, address, telephone, and fax numbers, 2) Identif ication of the company as a Small Business with proper certification (NAICS Code 237990 business size standard is not to exceed $31,000,000 each). 3) Past experience with heavy construction work. 4) Letter from bonding agency indication your performance a nd payment bond capacity. 5) List of existing teaming agreements in place with other businesses. IMPORTANT: Responses must be limited to no more than 10 pages. Submission of a Capabilities Statement is not a prerequisite to any potential future offerings, but participation will assist the Corps in tailoring requirements to be consistent with industr y capabilities. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is neither to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents WILL NOT be notified of the results of the eva luation. Statements that do not meet all requirements or submitted within the allotted time will not be considered.
