- This is not a request for proposals and no contract will be awarded as a result of this notice, nor will reimbursement or any other compensation be made for any costs associated with providing a response to this announcement. The Indian Head Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center is seeking sources capable of providing n-HEXANE in 200 liters. The current specifications include: n-Hexane: Purity = 99% OR HIGHER Appearance: Clear Liquid Color Scale: <10 APHA Separation Technique: GC >99% Water: ,0.01% (Coulometric) Free Acid (CH3COOH): <0.002% Trace Analysis Type: Pb measure <0.1 ppm Type: Cu measure <0.1 ppm Type: Cd measure <0.1 ppm Type: Zn measure <0.1 ppm Residue After Evaporation: <0.002% Sulfur Compounds (as S) <0.005% Thiophene: passes test Sources are sought for potential suppliers to present supply options for the Government to review. Suppliers wishing to participate in this requirement must submit an estimate to Stacy Hutcherson @stacy.hutcherson@navy.mil IHDIV, NSWC by 17 October 2007, 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. These Estimates should detail the following elements: (a) the basic technical specifications, including a copy of the MSDS if available, (b) the suppliers? recommended storage/shipping conditions, (c) the suppliers? delivery schedule, (d) the suppliers? cost estimate. All estimates submitted under this request shall be considered Government property and treated as ?Competition Sensitive? materials. If a contract is pursued in the future, the Government may select to negotiate for unlimited data rights for specification details. After a complete review of the estimates submitted under this request, the Government may choose to solicit contract proposals in October 2007. The estimates should be limited to not longer than three (3) pages and should highlight the following elements: (1) technical and administrative points of contact, (2) technical summary of chemical specification, (3) recommended chemical storage (4) recommended chemical shipment (5) delivery schedule, (6) cost estimate.
