Description
In order to maintain a leveled competitive field of interested vendors, the following are industry Questions and FAA Answers regarding the Air Traffic Organization (ATO-S)Visual Analytics announcement posted on 9/12/2007. The reference posting number is 6057. 1. Does the data to be analyzed include free text reports? Yes, free text meaning unstructured. Is the FAA interested in including these text fields in the analysis, in addition to structured data? Yes. 2. Should the software provide task scheduling capabilities enabling re-execution of the developed data analysis scenarios? Would be nice to have, but not required. 3. Would it be sufficient for the proposed software to provide its own OLAP cubes functionality? Yes. Would the FAA still want to perform OLAP cubes analysis in some external system? Possibly. 4. If having its own OLAP cubes is not sufficient for the proposed software, then which is more important: the support for MS SQL Server Analysis Services? Or SAS OLAP Server? Don't know enough to answer, we use Oracle. By SAS we mean Statistical Analysis System, not the company SAS. 5. Would the integration of the software with SAS datasets through an ODBC connection be sufficient? Yes, or Oracle. 6. Is the FAA interested in separating different user groups for the software: data analysts (who develop data analysis scenarios) and business users (who view easy to comprehend reports summarizing key results of the analysis)? Depends on cost. 7. Is the FAA seeking the Server/Client implementation of the software? Or the standalone desktop implementation? Five people to use whichever best fits.
