Description
The Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District Contracting Division, anticipates a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302 for the following requirement: disassembly, diagnostics, repair, and reassembly of a Horsburg & Scott Model 220 QBV quadruple reduction 405.598:1, right angle, spiral bevel/helical gear reducer. Diagnostics must include a fault analysis. The reducer will not be available for repair until mid December 2007 and must be returned by mid February 2008. Please indicate if you have the capability of using a marine plant and crane to move the reduction gear. Replacement with a gear reducer built by a different manufacturer is not acceptable in order to maintain compatibility with existing equipment and parts. Interested so urces that are capable of providing the supplies and services listed above are encouraged to submit statements of capability to the contracting office. Small business concerns are encouraged to participate. This is not a request for competitive proposals , but instead a market research method to determine interested sources. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be co nsidered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No requests for capability briefings will be honored as a result of this notice. Interested sources who submit data are responsible for appropriately marking inf ormation if it is proprietary in nature. Please provide past performance and references regarding your ability to provide this supply and service along with your Statement of Capability. The Government will not award a contract based on the information received, nor reimburse participants for information they provide. Information provided is strictly voluntary. Telephonic inquiries will not be honored. Closing date for submission of Statements of Capability is October 26th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. CST.
