Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs has a requirement for annual maintenance, repair, inspection, and certification to fume hoods and biological safety cabinets located throughout the Palo Alto Health Care System, Palo Alto, CA. Maintenance and repair will include but not limited to decontamination services for hoods, replacement of motors, fans, sashes, circuit breakers and wiring, and/or any other devices that may need replacement to keep fume hoods within certification parameters for JCAHO inspection. There are different types of cabinets located at the Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Livermore, and San Jose facilities. At present there are 99 Fume hoods, 50 Biological cabinets, 16 Animal Condominiums, 11 in line heap filters, 7 animal change stations, 11 Laminar flow hoods, and 3 pharmacy that require ISO/10K and/or ISO5/100 viable particle count testing. The numbers above are dynamic and could change slightly based on research requirements. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE only and the SOLICITATION IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. If there are enough responses of interest to this notice the solicitation will be issued as a 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Concerns or Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) Concerns. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 811219. The size standard for this NAICS code is $6.5 million. The Department of Veterans Affairs anticipates awarding a firm fixed price contract. The period of performance will be for one (1) base year with four (4) option years, if exercised. The approximate solicitation release date is on or about August 17, 2007. The solicitation will be available solely through FedBizOpps. The RFP will be issued under solicitation number VA-261-07-RP-0181. The solicitation and any related documents for this procurement will be made available to interested parties through electronic media for downloading via the internet at Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) www.fedbizopps.gov. All interested parties must have a Dun and Bradstreet Number, Federal Identification Number (FID), Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR), and registered in the Veteran Information Pages at www.VETBIZ.GOV.
