Description
The U.S. Coast Guard has a requirement to establish a maintenance parts and technical services program to support the propulsion system installed on the National Security Cutter (NSC). The major components of the system include two Main Diesel Engines (MTU 20V1163TB98), one Combined and Gas Turbine Reduction Gear (Renk AS 2/250-AS 198F), two Controllable Pitch Propeller and Shafting Systems (Rolls Royce Naval Marine), Propulsion Machinery Control and Remote Control System (MTU- MCS/RCS-5), Fuel Oil Conditioning Module (Precise MFCM-35-3-M), Lube Oil Scavenging and Conditioning Assembly (GE-2500-3AG03), Gas Turbine Enclosure Cooling Fan (Howden Buffalo NP-4849/99), Gas Turbine Connection Hoses (MTU) and Gas Turbine Control system (Woodward). This will be an Other Than Full and Open Competition Requirement using the Integrated Propulsion System Support Services Contract Vendor. All labor shall be performed by OEM certified and authorized machinists, mechanics and technicians. It has been determined that only Motoren und Turbinen Union ? Detroit Diesel (MTU-DD), can furnish the desired services and parts for the NSC Integrated Propulsion System and the only responsible source that can analyze all these components simultaneously. This requirement will be a base year with four option years. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which they will be considered by the agency. See Numbered Note 22.
