Description
In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration Acquisition Management System (FAA AMS) paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the FAA's intent to contract with a selected firm using single source procedures. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement to purchase hardware and system software maintenance for the Guardian Operating System in support of the WMSCR Lab. Our current information indicates that these products are only offered and maintained by Hewlett-Packard. WMSCR has contracted with HP to provide hardware and system software maintenance since the deployment of the WMSCR system into the NAS. HP performs monthly periodic maintenance of all Tandem equipment at the NNCC facilities in Atlanta, GA, Salt Lake City, UT and the WJHTC in Atlantic City. They also provide regular software updates for all of the system software including the operating system, tandem utilities, and firmware. In addition, emergency assistance is received within 24 hours for replacing any defective hardware at these sites. This level of service is necessary to ensure the proper function of the WMSCR system in the NAS. A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. If your firm does not agree with this single source determination, please provide evidence of your firm's capabilities and experience in providing the above services. The FAA will evaluate this accordingly. All responses to this announcement must be directed to Karen Mercer no later than 1:00 P.M., Eastern Standard Time, October 15, 2007. The appropriate mailing address is FAA, William J. Hughes Technical Center, Atlantic City Int'l Airport, Atlantic City, NJ 08405 ATTN: Karen Mercer, AJP-7952. Responses may be sent via e-mail to Karen.Mercer@FAA.Gov or via fax to (609) 485-4088. The FAA SHALL NOT be liable for any costs associated with the preparation of responses to the request for information, nor reimburse or otherwise pay any costs associated with the preparation of responses to the request for information, nor reimburse or otherwise pay any costs incurred by any party responding to this announcement.
