Description

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Region 5, is planning a solicitation to Furnish Two (2) Ultraviolet Water Sterilizers at the White River National Fish Hatchery, Windsor County, Bethel, VT. This solicitation will use a Request for Proposal method as outline in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Parts 15. The ultimate contract award will be based on the best overall value to the goverment with the past performance (timely delivery and quality of goods) of interested qualified firms being a major deciding factor. The project consists of furnishing two (2) ultraviolet disinfection units, each unit capable of disinfecting 500 gallons per minute of river water at 80% UV transmittance. Each new sterilizer unit shall be furnished to provide a complete and operable water disinfection system. The work includes start-up services and training for staff personnel. There are currently six (6) existing ultraviolet disinfection units located in the hatchery building water supply room, installed in parallel and connected to 14" welded steel pipe water supply and return manifolds. Four (4) of the existing ultraviolet water sterilizers are designed to treat a water flow delivery of up to 1000 gallons per minute. The two (2) remaining ultraviolet water sterilizers are designed to treat up to 500 gallons per minute. Only two (2) existing 500 gallons per minute ultraviolet water sterilizer units shall be removed and replaced under this proposed contract. The four (4) existing 1000 gallons per minute units shall remain. All six (6) UV units were manufactured by Ultraviolet Purification Systems. The 1000 gpm units are 36 bulb units and the 500 gpm units are 18 bulb units. The NAICS is 333319. This procurement is unrestricted. This solicitation will be issued on/or about November 7, 2007; with an estimated proposal closing date of on/or about November 27, 2007. All responsive, responsible, offerors with a strong positive past performance history, are invited to participate in the proposal process and will be considered for contract award.
