Description

The US Geological Survey, WRD, Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility, Stennis Space Center, MS has a requirement to obtain acoustic doppler current meters. The Government intends to make award on a sole source basis to Teledyne R D Instruments, Inc. for this requirement in accordance with FAR 8.405-6(b). Teledyne R D Instruments, Inc. is uniquely qualified to provide the products required. The Teledyne R D Instruments, Inc. have been established as the benchmarks for data collection activities and exceed the USGS requirements. The USGS, WRD has determined that after considering alternative sources that the intensive validation process to determine viability would be disadvantagous. There is no written solicitation for this requirement. This award will be made on or about October 18, 2007 under the Simplified Acquisition Thershold for Commercial Items. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 334513. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. No additional synosis will be published.
