- The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Charleston (SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston) is soliciting information from potential sources to provide a Radar system for Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. The purpose of the Radar system is to provide an airspace data input for the Battlespace Command, Control, and Communication (BC3) system. The primary function of the Radar system is to detect and track all air traffic, cooperative and un-cooperative, in the airspace around the Al Udeid Air Base. The primary function will also include triggering and receiving responses from IFF transponders on cooperative aircraft in the airspace around the Al Udeid Air Base. The secondary function is to provide Air Traffic Control (ATC) for the vicinity. The required capabilities are shown below: 1. 3D target location; 2. Height measurement; 3. Range coverage of 200 nmi radius; 4. Network data interface 5. Electronic Countermeasures (ECM); 6. Electronic Counter Countermeasures (ECCM); 7. IFF capabilities: a. Mode 1, b. Mode 2, c. Mode 3, d. Mode 4; 8. Availability > 95%; 9. Mounting capabilities: a. Tower mountable, b. Ground mountable; 10. Capable of functioning inside a COTS radome. Desired characteristics are shown below: 1. Range coverage of 240 nmi radius; 2. Extremely low sidelobe levels. The procurement will be for one (1) Radar System. The procurement may also include a tower and / or a radome. A Firm- Fixed-Price type contract is anticipated. The NAICS code is 334220 with a size standard of 750 employees. Responses are to be submitted to Contracting Officer Deborah D. THIS SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT, OR ANY FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION REQUESTS.
