- (i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation number is W911QX-08-T-0001. This acquisition is issued as an Request for Quotation (RFQ) with the intent to solicit only one source. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government is soliciting and negotiat ing with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all pr oposals received before the closing date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of t he Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determi ning whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The compnay in which the Government intends to award a contract to is Advanced Cerametrics, Inc. 245 N. Ma in Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530-1416. (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-18. dated July 5, 2007. (iv) The associated NAICS code is 325998. The small business size standard is 500. (v) The following is a list of contract line item number(s) and items, quantities and units of measure, (including option(s), if applicable): Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) 0001 65 lbs of boron carbide fiber by Viscous Suspension Spinning Process (VSSP), nominal diameter 13-15 micrometers, nominal length 10 centimeter. (vi) Delivery is required by 12/31/2007. Delivery shall be made to the US Army Research Laboratory, ARL Receiving Section, Bldg 434, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005. Acceptance shall be performed at the same location above. The FOB point is FOB D EST. (vii) The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial, applies to this acquisition. The following addenda have been attached to this provision: NONE. (viii) Offerors shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications - Commercial Items, and DFARS 252.212-7000, Offeror Representations and Certifications -Commercial Items, with its offer. Online Rep resentations and Certification Application (ORCA) registration is required.
