- By way of this announcement, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Chicago District is surveying the Market Place to determine the interests and capabilities of HubZones and 8(a) firms with regard to an upcoming acquisition for construction serv ices for USACE, Chicago District. Firms must be a Construction firm with an approved NAICS Code of 237990 and have bonding capacity from $3,000,000.00 to approximately $5,000,000.00. The HubZone and 8(a) firms must posses the expertise, capabilities, and experience necessary to meet the requirements for the Floodwall 37 Palatine Road located in Prospect Heights, Illinois; a brief description of the project is provided below see BACKGROUND. THIS Sources Sought notice will be used for planning purposes only. This notice does not constitute an Invitation for Bid or Request for Proposal and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not reimburse contractors for any cost incurred for their participation in this survey. Only HubZone and 8(a) firms are encouraged to participate in this survey. BACKGROUND: The project will constitute providing all equipment, materials and labor for the following: Construct 1,4 00 linear feet of floodwall and one sewer outlet closure structure. The floodwall will run along the proposed off-ramp from Palatine Road expressway to Frontage Road in Prospect Heights, Illinois. The work will include maintenance of traffic, temporary f ield office and fencing, stripping topsoil, clearing and grubbing, erosion and sediment control. Sheet pile wall type PZ, steel cap beam, painting sheet pile wall, storm drainage, 12 reinforced concrete pipe, flush inlet box, removing existing catch basin , sluice gates, swale, 12 steel pipe, schedule 80, disposal of excess and unsatisfactory material and seeding. The HubZone and 8(a) firms having the bonding capacity and skills and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought.
