- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate and issue a sole source modification to extend Contract N00019-03-D-0002 for a 6-month period pursuant to FAR Part 6.302-1. The purpose of the modification is for Contractor Logistics Support and Technical Engineering Support Services for the USMC KC-130J aircraft propulsion system, which includes the AE2100D3 turboprop engine and R391 propeller. The current contractor, Rolls-Royce Corporation, is the sole designer, developer, sole producer of the AE2100D2 turboprop engine and the R391 propeller and the only source available to provide the required services for a 6-month period. Rolls-Royce has developed and retains all AE2100D3 turboprop engine and the R391 propeller proprietary data right, such as, drawings, specifications, and historical data. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals.
