Description
The U.S. Army, Joint Munitions and Lethality Life Cycle Management Command Acquisition Center (JM&L LCMC Acq Ctr), in support of the U.S. Army Research Development Engineering Command ??? Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM-ARDEC) is conducting a Market Survey to identify potential sources and vendors capable of supplying titanium ballistic plate meeting specification MIL-DTL-46077, Class 2 or Class 3 and or ASTM -B 367 Grade 2,3,5, or 9. Under this program, ARDEC seeks to procure titanium plate, for initial delivery starting in August or September of 2007. ARDEC requires plate in various sizes and shapes, and with additional post-processing operations, such as cutting, machining, painting, etc., to be delivered as required. Vendors shall be able to convert post-processing scrapes as return for price credit. Vendors must have the capability of supplying US-made materials to ARDEC at Picatinny Arsenal in NJ to support the U.S. Government???s mission. The current plan is for an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type contract beginning in FY08 for the titanium panels. All interested vendors shall submit their technical capabilities (1-10 pages) for the above to include the following at no cost to the Government. The technical capabilities shall describe how the interested vendor can provide titanium ballistic plate, specifically citing: (1) Past performance in supplying titanium plate meeting specification MIL-DTL-46077 Class 2 or Class 3, for any of the US Military Services; (2) Provide evidence that the titanium products have been qualified for US Military application; and (3) Demonstrate the ability to deliver titanium plate within 1 month of contract award, at a minimum rate of 5,000 pounds per month. The U.S. Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. The U.S. Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. See numbered note 13.
