- Description
- This requirement is for a 20 Ton Aircraft Air Conditioner for the Kuwait Air Force, F-18C/D Support Equipment program. The Government intends to award a competitive commercial contract. The requirements that must be met are: 1. Must operate in a desert environment, high temp (140 deg. (F) ) Over sized cooling system; dust and sand protection beyond normal operating conditions found in the U.S. 2. Must be spare parts supported for min. of 10 years. Local spare parts distributor available to support these units in Kuwait 3. Operations and maintenance training schools available for initial and follow-on training of KAF military/contractor personnel. 4. Twenty (20) ton chilled air is a firm requirement. F/A-18 aircraft need this volume to chill critical electronics equipment. A larger unit will damage aircraft and electronics equipment. 5. Electrical power required to operate this unit in a hangar must be 50 Hertz.. Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst plans to issue SOLICITATION NUMBER N68335-08-R-0002 on or about approximately 30 October 2007.
