- This is a modification to the synopsis entitled Platinum Resistance Temperature Detectors which was posted on August 1, 2007. You are notified that the following changes are made: The purpose of this modification is to provide notice of our intent to issue a sole source procurement. RTD Synopsis (Sole Source) Description: The NASA/SSC Acquisition Management Office intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price, contract to Rosemount Aerospace, Inc. for the development and delivery to NASA/Stennis Space Center, 64 Platinum Resistive Temperature Devices. The following tasks shall be performed under this requirement: manufacture 64 platinum resistive temperature devices conforming to existing Rosemount 134RN Temperature Sensor drawings and specification PRTD 2007-06. The procurement will consist of a total of 64 sensors constructed to various lengths and shall include the Schedule B-C calibrations at LHe, LN2 and ice points. The estimated period of performance or lead-time for delivery for this project is 28 weeks to first deliveries with a total of 50 weeks to complete deliveries after contract award. Rosemount Aerospace, Inc. is the only known Vendor that can provide sensors that meet the requirements of this procurement. There will be only one award made for this requirement. This is a sole source acquisition under the authority of FAR Parts 6.302-1 and 12. The Government believes only one responsible source can provide the required devices that will satisfy the Agency's requirements. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for competitive quotes. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort, via email, to the identified point of contact not later than 4:00 p.m. (local time) on 11/13/2007. Submissions will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. This acquisition is unrestricted. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 334513 and 500 employees respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. FOB is destination. It is anticipated that Solicitation No. NNS07200002R will be issued to Rosemount Aerospace, Inc. on or about 11/14/2007 with their response due NLT 3:00 p.m 11/16/2007.
