Description
The scope of work may consist of all aspects of Architect/Engineering Consulting Services concentrated primarily on repair and alteration projects and secondarily on new construction and building expansion projects for Houston and Southeast TX. The United States Postal Service shall be seeking to award multiple contracts for architect-engineer services that will be for six years, one 2 year base and two 2-year options, with individual work orders being issued. Each work order will be negotiated as an individual project. The total amount of work ordered over the six year period may not exceed $5,000,000 or be less than $5,000. Firms which possess the qualifications to perform the services described below are invited to submit three (3) copies of completed SF 330 Architect-Engineer Qualifications for itself and for each of its proposed consultants to the office shown below not later than November 30, 2007. The selection will be conducted by using the submitted SF 330 form. Interested firms with more than one office must indicate on their SF 330 the staffing composition of the office in which the work will be performed. Consideration will be given to firms responding to this advertisement in accordance with the instructions in the following order of preference. 1. Local: with zip codes 770,771, and 772; 2) Within zip code areas 773, 774, 775, 776, 777, & 778. Architectural Engineering firms will be considered as local if their sole office is in the geographical area or have a local branch office and all the architectural and engineering design, coordination and management of the project will be performed in that office. Criteria to be used in selection of firms for interview will be: 1) Architect Engineering firms who have been in business a minimum of five years who have managed the design, construction and completion of a variety of repair and alteration projects, which must be demonstrated by submitting a synopsis of a minimum of twenty repair and alteration projects on a separate attachment with the following information: Location of project, project name, detailed project description, project completion date, contracted cost of project, final cost of project, general contractor, GC's Project Manager including office and cell phone numbers; 2)Architecture is the primary function of the submitting office; 3) The firm must have a minimum of two architects licensed in the State of Texas to practice architecture; 4) The firm or their consultants must have a minimum of two licensed engineers in the State of Texas in the disciplines of mechanical, electrical, structural and civil engineering; 5) Firm's ability to manage multiple repair and alteration projects at one time; 6) Possess AutoCAD 2000 or higher; 7) Experience with AutoCAD systems using similar standards and procedures; 8) Experience in building expansion and new construction work of 1,000 to 30,000 square feet; 9) firms are to provide evidence of current insurance of $200,0000 of errors and omission per claim. It is prohibited to pay any fee, commission, percentage or brokerage fee to any person or firm contingent upon or resulting from award of a contract for this project. In the future, the Postal Service may elect to expand the geographic area on this contract to include projects within Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and and other locations in Texas without further solicitation. No other general notification for this project will be made. The US Postal Service reserves the right to make multiple awards on this solicitation. Submission will not be retained or returned.
