- This announcement is to invite industry to participate in a Counter Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (CREW) industry day on 4 December 2006. The industry day will be held at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, 11100 Johns Hopkins Road, Laurel, Maryland 20723. Directions to Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab may be provided upon registration or can be obtained from the following website - http://www.jhuapl.edu/newscenter/visitor/default.asp. Each company is allowed up to 4 personnel for conference attendance; with the caveat that if the government receives more interest than auditorium capacity, the government reserves the right to limit larger parties so that all interested companies can participate. The DRAFT detailed agenda is provided below. The morning briefings will r emain at the unclassified level presenting the acquisition strategy, the high level system requirements, and future technology requirements. The afternoon briefs will provide detailed requirements and operational information. These briefs will be classified at the SECRET//REL USA, GBR, CAN, AUS// level and require each participant to submit a security clearance prior to the meeting. If you plan to participate in the afternoon discussions, please submit clearances to Incoming Visitor Control, Phone: 240.228.5661 or FAX: 240.228.6400. The Department of Defense (DoD) is initiating a development effort to counter the long-term, worldwide IED threat. The Naval Sea Systems Command is planning to execute procurements to address these combined threats. The acquisition strategy is to maintain competition through the development phase by awarding one or more development contracts. Each development contract will require design, develop, and fabrication of a system of systems including an integrated approach for test man-portable (dismounted), vehicle mounted (mounted), fixed site, and coalition partner Counter-RCIED Electronic Warfare (CREW) capabilities. By incorporating technical advances over the existing CREW systems, these contracts will demonstrate the next generation of an integrated CREW, system of systems. The Government anticipates awarding one or more contracts on or about the 1st Quarter FY09 with initial delivery planned for on or about 2nd Quarter FY12. The DoD will provide specific details of the acquisition strategies during the industry day on 4 December 2007. The information provided is for information only and is not a Request for Proposal (RFP), and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a contract or order.
