Description

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL & NO MATERIAL WILL BE ISSUED AND NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE OR BIDDER/PLAN HOLDER LIST WILL BE ISSUED. Atlanta VA Medical Center (VAMC) is seeking a qualified Architect/Engineering (A/E) firm with specialty and/or experiences working with the VA health care facilities to provide a complete design (Investigative Work; preparing Construction Bid Documents & Cost Estimates; performing Construction Period Services & Site Visits), and prepare As-Built Drawings to design Project 508-08-115 FCA-Access, Roads, Curb/Gutter, Sidewalks, Wayfinding for the VA Medical Center located at 1670 Clairmont Rd, Decatur, GA. Work shall include demolition and new construction of roadways, sidewalks, wayfinding signage and curb and gutter to improve site access infrastructure, and be phased to minimize traffic interruptions. Work required due to congested parking at VAMC Atlanta, cars have been forced to park on the sidewalks around the campus & many gutters have been rendered operationally ineffective, curbs & sidewalks have been overstressed due to the added load from vehicles weight, & new wayfinding signage needs to be coordinated and installed to reflect the changes in traffic pattern, and designated parking areas. Selection criteria shall include (a) Proposed management plan; (b) Previous experience; (c) Professional qualifications (d) Facilities location; (e) Proposed design approach; (f) Cost control: (g) Schedule control; (h) Estimating effectiveness; (i) Experience and capabilities in the following areas: value engineering, life cycle analysis, critical path method, fast-track construction, energy conservation, new energy sources, environmental assessment, specialized experience, computer aided design, drafting, and other computer applications; (j) Awards received; (k) Circumstances and outcomes of any litigation you have been involved in over the past five years; (l) type and amount of liability insurance you carry; (m) background of proposed key personnel. EST construction range: Between $500,000 and $1million.
