- Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army-Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis wit h Sigma Thermal Process Heating System Design 200 North Cobb Pkwy. Suite# 409, Marietta, GA 30062, to provide a thermal fluid heating system for mobile kitchen. Sigma Thermal is uniquely qualified to design, fabricate and deliver the required thermal flu id heater. They recently and successfully completed the development of a similar thermal fluid heater for the Army's Containerized Kitchen and are knowledgeable about the special needs of mobile field kitchens i.e., lightweight, compact, rugged, leak free , and designed for mobile military operations. Their design at 300K BTU/hour is less than 1/3 the output of typical small heaters and they use special heat exchanger features that allow it to survive off-road transportation without failure.. Nothing here in should be misconstrued as a request for proposal. No solicitation document is available. See Note 22 which reduces the response time to 5 days.
