Description
ISSUE ARMY TOWELS AND WASHCLOTHS Sources Sought: The U.S. Army Natick Soldier RDEC has a need to identify commercially available towels and washcloths or materials for towels and washcloths for potential use as a replacement for the towels currently used by the Army. The towels and wash cloths will be evaluated for use in a potential future user test. NO SOLICITATION CURRENTLY EXISTS FOR THESE ITEMS. The towels and washcloths must be 100% produced in the U.S of 100% U.S. made fibers, but the Government is not mandating the type of fibe rs, the weight of the material or the size of the towel or washcloth. The properties we are looking for are: Quick drying, light weight, ease in cleaning, durability in laundering, comfort on skin, low pill and towel service life. Cost will be a determi ning factor. Color is not important at this point in time. Companies interested in having their towels and/or washcloths evaluated for possible future use must submit 6 towels and/or 6 washcloths (for testing purposes), along with an information paper (s pecification sheet) describing the towels, to include such things as place of manufacture, location of source of fibers, blend of fibers, pricing information (cost per item), any in-house testing data that is available and any other information that the co mpany feels appropriate. The samples and information paper must be submitted no later than 18 January 2008 to Ms. Pam Moriarty, US Army Research Development & Engineering Command, Natick Soldier RDEC, ATTN: AMSRD-NSC-IP-A, Room D-226, Kansas Street, Natick , MA 01760-5019. All responses must be in writing. NO telephonic responses will be accepted. EMAIL ADDRESS: pam.moriarty@us.army.mil
