- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Geologic Hazards Team (GHT) has a requirement for services to review Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), geologic and seismologic safety issues on site license applications for nuclear power plants. The minimum requirements are: Expertise in geology and seismology of the Central and Eastern United States, PH.D geology degree with training and experience in the mapping of quaternary faults, geomorphology, seismotectonics, and structural geology, with particular emphasis on the Central and Eastern United States. Extensive experience is required in the characterization of surface and subsurface material deposits, folding, faulting, paleoliquefaction features, as well as, the correlation of seismicity with tectonic structures. In addition, experience with litigation support and providing expert testimony. The U.S. Geological Survey considers this specified requirement as a sole source to Tuttle, M & Associates, 128 Tibbetts Ln, Georgetown, ME 04548. Other interested concerns having the ability to furnish these services at the same cost may submit a capabilities statement to the contracting officer USGS, PO Box 25046 Denver Federal Center, Denver, CO 8025-0046 no later than the closing date of this requirement (12/07/2007) 4:00 PM MST. All submissions will be evaluated to determine if competitive opportunities exist; if no submissions are received by the above appointed time, the Government will proceed with noncompetitive award without further notice. This is NOT a Request for Quote (RFQ); the Government does not anticipate issuing a written solicitation. This notice and any resulting contract or order conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 2005-21, effective 07 November 2007. No numbered notes apply.
