Description
Library of Congress intends to negotiate non-competitively with BFPE International, 7512 Conelly Drive, Hanover, MD 21076 to purchase a new Fire Alarm Control Panel and Vesda Air Sampling Detection System. This will be an upgrade to our current clean agent fire suppression system and will be integrated with our existing suppression system. It is the Library?s understanding that only BFPE International can reasonably meet the existing requirements for the necessary upgrade. This will not only include providing a new Fire Alarm Control Panel and Vesda Air Sampling Detection System, but will also include the installation and maintainence of all existing components (alarm, detection, and suppression) of the integrated fire protection system for the Gutenberg and Mainz Bible. BFPE installed the existing spot smoke detection and alarm panels for the Gutenberg and Mainz Bible Cases and have been performing the regular inspection and maintenance on the alarm, detection and clean agent suppression systems since its installation. However, any other company that is capable of demonstrating the ability to provide a new Fire Alarm Control Panel and Vesda Air Sampling Detection System that can be integrated with the existing suppression system can contact the Library for consideration. The Library must receive all such capability statements from interested firms by 12PM EST, Friday, December 14, 2007 to be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed Contract based upon responses to this Notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any information received from interested firms/persons responding to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any question regarding this Notice must be in writing and submitted to the Contract Specialist, LaTalya Palmer-Lewis. via E-mail at lpal@loc.gov.
