- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District (USACE-NAE) is soliciting Architect-Engineer (A-E) firms for the design of the National Museum of the United States Army (NMUSA) project to be located at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The NMUSA will b e a 21st Century museum of excellence, recognized as a national and international visitor destination. The NMUSA will engage, entertain, and educate visitors to the historic role of the Army in the development of the Nation and the current relationship of the Army to the people of this Nation. This A-E contract is being conducted in 2 phases in accordance with federal regulations. Interested firms shall submit SF 330s to USACE-NAE by January 9, 2008. Firms will be evaluated based upon qualification as presented in the SF 330s. A short list of up to 5 firms will then participate in Phase 2, which will include a short presentation by each firm on their approach to executing the project. Selection will then be made based upon the information provided in both phases. The full text of the solicita tion can be found on: http://www.fbo.gov/spg/USA/COE/DACA33/W912WJ%2D08%2DR%2D0005/listing.html. USACE-NAE will host an Industry Forum and networking session on 12 December 2007 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to present information on the NMUSA project to interested A-E firms and subcontractors. The purpose of the Industry Forum is to provide information to A-E firms about the solicitation process and working with the federal government. The Museum Director will also provide a briefing on his vision for the NMUSA. The benefit to firms is the oppor tunity to address questions regarding the project, submission requirements, and selection process with those directly involved. The forum also allows firms to network which could lead to possible teaming opportunities. The Industry Forum will be held at the FDIC L. William Seidman Center, 3501 North Fairfax Drive, Arlington VA from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required by 10 December. To register and receive additional information on the Seidman Center, or for questions on the solicitation, contact Rachael Raposa of the USACE-NAE at 978-318-8249 rachael.raposa@usace.army.mil.
