- This is a combined synopsis/Request for Quotation (RFQ) for commercial services/supplies prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12.6 and supplemented with additional information as included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the RFQ; quotes are due on January 2, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. This RFQ incorporates FAR provisions and clauses through FAC: 2005-21, November, 2007. This RFQ is 100% set-aside for small business. The North American Industrial Classification System Code is: 332999 with a small business size standard of: 500 employees. The Specifications consists of, but are not limited to, the contractor providing the following commodities: CLIN 0001 Brand Name or Equal: Yardney Filters Make/Model: MM 4860-6A Filters must be industrial sized vertical multi-media filters with approximately 300 cubic feet of media for filtration, enough to filter 800 gpm. There should not be more than six filters to accomplish this. Filters will be filled with gravel, sand and BIRM to remove iron and manganese. Iron concentrations from well water are 1.5 ppm, and manganese are 0.2 ppm. Filters must be able to filter iron and manganese out of the water supply to meet Utah State drinking water quality standards. (0.2 ppm and 0.05 ppm respectively. The system will include filters, interconnecting piping , valves, gauges, fittings, and automatic controls. Filters should include an automatic backflush controller, which controls cast iron, diaphragm operated three way valves that operate sequentially with a 5 to 60 minute adjustable dwell between filters. Back flush duration will be adjustable from 3 minutes to 15 minutes. The system should utilize the clean filtered water for back-flushing purposes. While backflushing, the filter system will not go offline, providing a constant, yet reduced flow of water for hatchery operations. Controller will operate unattended at adjustable time selected intervals, and include a field adjustable automatic pressure differential override safety circuit. A backwash cycle counter shall be integrated into the controller. Controller shall be 110 VAC powered. Maximum working pressure will be no more than 80 psi. Each filter tank will be supplied with a cast iron , diaphragm operated, cast metal three-way valve. The valve will be operated by air and shall utilize a stainless steel valve shaft, stainless steel valve element retainer and polyurethane valve seal. The valve will be removable for replacement or service. Valves will feature external grease fittings for ease of lubrication without disassembly. The filtration system under-drain will be constructed of stainless steel, and provide even, non turbulent media bed fluidization. Delivery FOB Destination NO LATER THAN 1 March 2008
