Description
AMENDMENT 0001 THE FOLLOWING IS ADDED IN ITS ENTIRETY AND REPLACES PREVIOUS VERSION: PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR LASER TESTING SERVICES The Government is seeking sources to serve as an independent laser eyewear testing laboratory for testing Laser Protective Eyewear (Spectacles, Goggles, Faceshields). This is only a request for information (RFI)for a possible contract to perform laser testing on eyewear products as required by the military. Interested companies must respond to this RFI in order to be considered for award. IF AN REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) IS ISSUED IT SHALL ONLY BE SENT TO COMPANIES RESPONDING TO THIS RFI. The test service contract would be used as needed for a period of 1 year, plus 4 option years, with minimum committed funds and options for maximum funding/task orders. The laser test facility shall be capable of testing to a variety of wavelength exposures already known to cause damage to the military personnel eyes by operational or environmental hazard or threat, in any of the light ranges, UV/visible/NIR spectral rang es. The laser test facility shall be capable of conducting physical property measurements of the lenses, to include (at a minimum) lens hardness and thickness, in addition to conducting the laser test on the eyewear. Contract information details may not be released to foreign nationals, nor will they be allowed to perform the planning of, reviewing of requirements, witness the testing, reviewing or reporting the results and data for this test service contract.
