- Description
- The Program Manager Advanced Amphibious Assault (PM AAA) has a requirement for acquisition of seven (7) additional prototype System Development and Demonstration 2 (SDD2) Expeditionary Fighting Vehicles (EFVs), long lead material for the prototype vehicles, modifications of existing SDD vehicles, EFV services and integrated logistics support activities for the SDD2 vehicles, and support for Developmental Testing (DT). This notice modifies the EFV Pre-solicitation notice issued under Classification Code 23 dated 19 October 2006. General Dynamics Land Systems (operating through its General Dynamics Amphibious Systems division in Woodbridge, Virginia) is the vehicle designer and developer. Acquisition of the additional prototype vehicles and services will support the EFV acquisition program objectives and schedule. The contractor will provide all required materials, services, personnel and facilities to verify the design and enhance the reliability, availability and m aintainability of the EFV, perform studies and analyses, manufacture and test the SDD2 prototypes, modify and test the existing SDD vehicles, support developmental testing, prepare for production, provide logistics support for the EFV, and successfully complete the SDD phase. Marine Corps Systems Command intends to contract on a sole source basis with General Dynamics Lands Systems for the acquisition of the SDD2 vehicles, the modification of existing SDD vehicles, the associated EFV services, and DT support through one or more contracts and contract modifications. The contracts and modifications are expected to be awarded during FY 2008 through FY 2012. Deliveries and support of SDD2 vehicles will commence in FY 2008 through FY 2012.
