Description
NAICS Code: 541620 Combined Solicitation Bridge Crane System This is a combined synopsis/request for quote (RFQ) for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The identifying RFQ number is RFQ-OH-06-00227. The RFQ and incorporated provisions/clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-20. This requirement is 100% set-aside for small businesses. A firm fixed price purchase order is anticipated to result from the award of this RFQ. The NAICS code is 541620, and the Small Business size standard is $6.5 million. Statement of Work/ Specifications The EPA requires installation of a pilot-scale gasifier at its Research Triangle Park, NC facility to conduct gasification of biomass and waste research. A bridge crane system is needed for loading the biomass and waste fuels into the gasifier. The contractor shall provide a complete overhead bridge crane system which includes the support structure, the bridge crane, a hoist, and the associated controls. The specification requirements of the hoist and bridge crane are listed below. Hoist: Load capacity: 3 tons. Lift: 30 ft. Construction: electric chain with container. Speed: two speeds, 16 and 4 ft/min Brake: self-adjusting hoist brake. Limit switches: load limit and upper and lower geared limits. Operation: remote control. Bridge Crane: Height: 32 ft. Runway length: 22 ft. Span: 5.5 ft. Speed: two speeds, 80 and 20 ft/min. Operation: remote control The contractor shall provide a stand alone support structure rated to support the entire bridge crane system. The support columns at the front end of the structure shall be 17 ft apart, and shall be 6.5 ft apart for the two columns at the back end of the structure. The contractor shall conduct onsite measurements for designing the support structure, and shall provide EPA with detailed drawings of the structure for approval after purchase order award. The contractor shall provide turn-key installation of the whole system with all material and equipment supplied. Inspection of the system shall be conducted by the government after the system is installed. The hoist shall be load tested by the contractor at 125% of the rated capacity (3.75 tons) with certified test weights in accordance with written procedure as specified by OSHA regulation CFR29 1910.179. The contractor shall complete the installation, inspection, and testing of the system within 6 weeks after the purchase order is awarded.
