Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) Solicitation FA4877-08-Q-0119 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). (iii) This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-21. (iv) This procurement is being issued as a 100% SMALL BUSINESS set-aside under NAICS code 314999 and small business size standard 500 employees. (v) The contractor shall provide the following items: supply a quantity of ten F-15 aircraft canopy covers for single canopy, F-15 aircraft, "A" model. Make pattern, if necessary, and construct canopy cover. The cover will be constructed out of material that conforms to MIL-P-58102, specifying TYPE III, CLASS I, and GRADE "A". The canopy covers will have a useful life of at least six (6) years. The covers will function as protection from the elements and provide a visual obstruction. It will cover the entire canopy, extending at least 2 feet past the circumference of the canopy opening. Flannel cloth, complying with commercial item description A-A-50129A, will be installed inside the cover to prevent chaffing of the cover on the canopy surface. One inch wide nylon straps will be installed, every 2 feet, along the length of the cover and have quick disconnect buckles to secure the cover and allow release of it. The strap will be long enough to extend around the bottom of the aircraft, to secure the cover. The cover will be constructed in an manner to eliminate the possibility of damage including scuffing, chaffing, or marring of the aircraft. A fit and function test, ensuring compliance with requirements set forth herein, will be conducted before acceptance of the covers. (viii) The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial, applies to this acquisition. (ix) 52.212-2, Evaluation -- Commercial Items applies. Quotes will be evaluated on price. (x) Offerors must include a completed copy of the provision at, 52.204-8, Annual Representations and Certifications and submit with its offer.
