Description: Work Requirements for Hurricane Modeling The New Orleans District, intends to award the University of North Carolina, a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed Price purchase order for predictive storm surge hydrographs at select locations in the Metro New Orlean s area both east and west of the Mississippi River any time New Orleans is within the predicted five day area of the probable path. Hydrographs must be automatically generated and delivered within an hour of the National Hurricane Center posting an update d forecast. The hydrographs will consist of the five day forecast path and four specified variations of the predicted path. The computer modeling system and grid must be tested and verified for historical storms such as Betsy, Katrina and Rita. Entire s ystem must be operational by the beginning of hurricane season 2008.This is a notice of intend AND a source for sought.
