- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Preparedness, Detection and Control of Infectious Diseases (NCPDCID), Division of Scientific Resources (DSR) is seeking to award a sole source commercial Purchase Order for an annual maintenance renewal contract for various Beckman instrumentation in the Biotechnology Core Facility, including centrifuges and capillary electrophoresis equipment. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, the Government has determined that BioNiquest Lab Services Inc., Danville CA, is the only responsible source to satisfy this requirement. The Government requires service engineers who are trained on specific Beckman instrumentation and have a minimum of five (5) years good track record of field experience diagnosing and repairing the covered equipment in a timely fashion. The vendor must provide a local service engineer to maintain the equipment with as little down time as possible and to respond to maintenance needs within 24 hours. Repairs must be made with OEM parts and carried out on-site. Due to the critical nature of the work, off-site repair is not an option. The Government intends to award by 31 December 2007. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the requirement are encouraged to identify themselves and provide written notification to the Contracting Officer by 24 December 2007. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
