- DUE TO URGENT AND COMPELLING REQUIREMENTS, THE GOVERNMENT HAS SHORTENED ITS PRESOLICITATION ANNOUNCMENT TIMEFRAME AS WELL AS THE TIME FRAME THAT THIS PROJECT WILL BE ADVERTISED. The government shall be issuing a solicitation on or about January 4, 20 08 for a Firm-Fixed Price Construction Contract in Chariton County, Missouri. This construction project is for PL 84-99 levee repairs on the Garden of Eden, 139 Section 2 Levee. Work shall consist Work shall consist of clearing and grubbing, hauling earthe n material, surface preparation, placement of earthen material to restore the damaged levee embankment, and installation of approximately 340 linear feet of 48-inch steel pipe along with necessary connecting bands, anti-seep collar and one 48-inch waterman flap gate. The magnitude of this project is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The NAICS code is 237990 with a size standard of $31,000,000.00. Packets will be made available through either the FedTEDs website at www.fedteds.gov or at the site visit whi ch is tentatively scheduled for the week of January 14, 2008. The exact date, time, and location will be provided in the solicitation. Please note that to be eligible for award of this project, you must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at the CCR website which is www.ccr.gov. Additionally you must complete your Online Representations and Certifications (ORCA) at the ORCA website which is orca.bpn.gov. Solicitations must be received at the Contracting Office by 3:00 PM(loc al time) on January 25, 2008 in Room 748. Please note that if you are hand delivering your solicitation package, you must enter through security. Any untimeliness due to problems getting past security is at the risk of the vendor. The bid opening room (R oom 748) shall not be opened until 2:30 PM. The government is tenatively planning on maintaining a bidders list which will be posted to www.nwk.usace.army.mil/contract/contract.html for this project.
