- The U.S. Department of Commerce, the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, in Key West, FL., intends award a purchase order (base plus 4 option years) for a computer monitoring system, subscription and the administration of two Kiosks located at the Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center. The Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center (FKEDC) is an educational facility that can launch visitors on an exploration into the Keys? legacy as an environmental jewel and historical treasure. The Eco-Discovery Center features 6,000 square feet of interactive exhibits on the Florida Keys, with a focus on human interaction with the environment, the management of marine protected areas and the maritime culture and history of the area. Typically at Center?s such as the FKEDC, visitors expect to be able to get information about local businesses (restaurants, stores, etc.) Government employees or volunteers at the information desk may not refer a visitor to a specific business or show preference to a specific business. When asked to make a referral for a service they will direct the visitor to the ?Information and Reservations? kiosk .The goal of the kiosks is to provide a service to the visitors at the FKEDC and relieve staff from being put in a compromising situation of recommending businesses. The government currently has two ?Information and Reservations? kiosks at the FKEDC. Minimum Requirements : 1) The computer monitoring shall handled by the vendor and requires a subscription fee for the visitor information / lobby concierge kiosk software program to provide visitor access to related businesses or various points of interest in the Key West / Florida Keys locale. 2) Each kiosk requires a subscription to the software program. 3) The vendor shall provide all administration to add / delete business listings as well as monitoring use at the kiosk. 4) The vendor shall install / maintain remote monitoring software and monitor each kiosk no less than once each 24 hour period. 5) The monitoring will include software updates and kiosk interface changes during the term of the purchase agreement. The services required for the base period remain the same for the option years. This is a small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this action is 519190. Size standard not to exceed $6.5M. This service is being procured under the guidelines of FAR Part 12, Commercial Items Procedures. Interested parties can request a copy of the Request for Quotation on or about December 17, 2007. The government now requires all contractors submit their Certification and Representation thru the on-line Business Partner Network (BPN).
