Description
You are cordially invited to attend the Ground Robotics Industry/Academia Day, co-hosted by the Joint Ground Robotics Enterprise and the Department of the Army, Joint Munitions and Lethality Life Cycle Management Command. This event will take place on January 16, 2008 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia. The anticipated timeframe for this Industry/Academia Day is 12:00 - 4:00 pm. The Department of Defense desires to extend the Ground Robotics Enterprise to include its industry, academic, non-profit and not for profit partners through the establishment of a Ground Robotics consortium. The Department???s intent is to enter into an Other Transaction agreement with this consortium. Through this consortium, the government expects to increase advances in the development and maturation of unmanned ground system technologies (to include autonomous tactical behaviors), improve the performance of ground robotic platforms, standardize the maturation and evolution of these systems as appropriate, and improve the integration of mission equipment package integration, all the while preparing to transition these technologies into potential programs of record. Consortium members will participate with their Government counterparts through four working groups to plan and adjust the Joint Ground Robotics Enterprise???s annual research plan. These working groups will focus on four of the Department???s Joint Capability Areas: Battlespace Awareness, Force Application, Protection and Logistics. It is expected that consortium members will provide input on a wide array of technologies, to include interoperability, mobility, autonomy, sensors, manipulators, payloads and collaborative operations. The purpose of this event is to increase awareness of opportunities for entering into Other Transaction Agreements among researchers and developers in Academia, Industry and Government. The following information and opportunities will be available to attendees: - Overview of the Ground Robotics efforts and each of the Department of Defense???s four Joint Capability areas - Preview of the Ground Robotics Broad Agency Announcement topics ($150M total available for funding FY08-FY16 projects) - Other Transaction and proposal requirements No sensitive or classified information will be discussed. Foreign-owned, controlled, or influenced firms are advised that security restrictions may apply that may preclude their participation in these efforts. Registration for the Ground Robotics Industry/Academia Day is free. Attendees for Industry/Academia Day are limited to 2 individuals per company. Point of contact for registration and questions is Ms. Morgan Ross at morgan.ross@us.army.mil, 973-724-3504.
