- Description
- The government is seeking information on concepts for a dual sensor capability utilizing both radar and electro-optics / infrared sensors (EO/IR) for the US Army Shadow 200 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) application. The requirements for the dual sensor are as follows: 1) The total dual sensor payload weight should be less than 65 lbs. 2) The radar should be capable of operating in SAR and GMTI modes. 3) The EO/IR sensor should have a Staring Mode, a Strip Mode, and a Spotlig ht Mode. 4) The GMTI mode should detect vehicles, standard military target moving at the speed of 10-160kph to a range of 7km at 8000ft AGL altitude. 5) The SAR mode should have a wide area search mode of 1.0m resolution and a spot mode of 0.3m resolution or better to a range of 7km at 8000 ft AGL altitude. 6) The SAR sensor system should have a Target Location Error (TLE) which supports the air vehicles Target Location Accuracy (TLA) of less than 25m while at 7km standoff range.
7) The SAR/GMTI sensor system should provide near real-time imagery to the controlling station. 8) The EO/IR sensor should operate at ranges out to 3km (5km (objective) with a Probability of Recognition (PR) of 80% for Electro-Optic and 70% fo r Infrared (90% PR (objective)), given an Anti-Personnel Carrier sized target. 9) It is desirable that the GMTI mode has 360 degree electronic scanning capability and used to cross-cue the EO for positive identification. The information submitted should contain no more than 25 pages and shall include at a minimum: 1) Technical description including picture of dual sensor 2) Performance specifications 3) Concept drawing of how the dual sensor will fit into the Shadow 2004) Current status of sensor development 5) Cost estimate of prototype dual sensor. The government however, does not intend to pay for this information. Responses are to be received by COB, 15 February 2008. All information must be in writing or via e-mail. There is a 5MB email limit. You may forward responses to US Army, RDECOM, CERDEC, I2WD, Bldg. 600, Fort Monmouth, NJ, 07703, ATTN: AMSRD-CER-IW-BA (Mr. Fedorow) or the following e-mail address: vincent.fedorow@us.army.mil.
