Description
This announcement is for the purpose of soliciting construction firms for the design-build of a live fire shoot house at Gil Gil, Kenya. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded to a prime construction contractor. The magnitude of the project is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. A Bank Letter of Guarantee will be required. The size of the construction site limit is 2,080m@ (.21 hectares). PROPOSAL BID PERIOD: The solicitation is scheduled for release on or about 4 February 2008. The propo sals will be due 4 March 2008 or 30 days from the date the solicitation is issued. Contract award will be on or about 14 March 2008. PROJECT SCOPE: The project scope of work includes contractor design and construction of a concrete/masonry live fire sho ot house training building, steel sunshade and site work. Optional work may consist of providing a slab on grade floor, electrical service, lighting, perimeter earth berm, gravel access road and parking and perimeter fencing. The work will comply with U. S. and applicable Kenyan codes, regulations, and standards. Estimated period of performance is 150 calendar days after notice to proceed is issued. PROPOSAL PROCEDURES: The Request for Proposal (RFP) will only be issued to prime construction contractors. Copies will not be released to suppliers or plan rooms. A Best Value Tradeoff process contracting method will be used to evaluate proposals. Evaluation criteria will be stated in the RFP. PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS: This is an electronic issued solicit ation. The Government will furnish two (2) copies of the CD-ROM containing the solicitation, specifications and plans. Paper copies of the solicitation will only be issued to contractors that do not have access to electronic data.
