- Description
- The purpose of this notice is to inform interested parties that the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to award a sole source contract modification to Lockheed Martin, Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems & Sensors Electronics Park, Building 6 Room 108, P.O. Box 4840 Syracuse, NY 13221-4840 under contract N00024-05-C-6327 in support of the Remote Minehunting System (RMS), AN/WLD-1(V)1 program. The contract modification includes a FY08 option for one(1) AN/WLD-1(V)1 Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) Remote Minehunting System and an estimated 18,750 man hours for engineering services. Lockheed Martin is the sole designer, developer, and producer of the RMS and the only firm that currently possesses the requisite knowledge and experience to provide the needed effort within the Navy?s required timeframe. No other source has the technical qualifications and the necessary resources to perform the work described herein, nor will any other supplies or services satisfy the Navy ?s requirements. The estimated period of performance is from May 2008 through March 2010. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The government intends to solicit and negotiate only with the source identified herein. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Lockheed Martin directly. This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable.
