Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. STATEMENT OF WORK 1. RECORDING PREPARATION & RECORDING In order to maximize the project potential, producer/sound engineer will be working with the Army Band personnel to assist with rehearsal planning and practice, and by planning the recording set-up in relation to the specific musical forces involved and the acoustics of the recording venue. Producer/engineer should have extensive experience working with the concert bands and concert band music. Producer/engineer should have previous performance experience. The producer/engineer should have performed in numerous concert and military style bands. This experience is critical to understand the internal musical tendencies of th e band and will cause less delay in recording due to the familiarity. The producer/engineer shall have 20 years or more of experience in the recording field. This coupled with Grammy award winning recognition within the music industry will assist in prod ucing a product that is as premier as the organization that the finished CD represents. Producer/engineer shall arrive on the evening of 17 February 2008 to be on site at Brucker Hall, Ft Myer, VA the morning of 18 February 2008 for pre-production setup. Recording process will take place 19-23 February 2008, from 0800 until 1700 hours daily until complete. 2. POST PRODUCTION (Editing & Mastering) Producer/engineer should have conservatory trained professional musicians. The combination of recording, editing and mastering experience with musical training and performance experience (which includes concert band performance) will enable the producer to accomplish complex post-production goals with technical and musical precision within TUSABs time constraints and budget requirements. Once final edits have been completed, a master CD will be finalized. 3. CD MANUFACTURING Replication of 5000 units (CDs) from the master CD; produce an 8 page folder 4/1, 4 color tray card, 3 color disc lab el using TUSABs camera ready art work. A sample of the finished product will be shipped overnight air (if non-local) to the ATTN of the CDR, TUSAB, for approval of product. Once approved, CDs must be delivered to TUSAB NLT 15 April 2008.
